Recycling
Clothing and Shoes
We have teamed up with Wardrobe who focus on the recovery and reuse of textiles, rather than just recycling.
How does textile reuse work?
Wardrobe collect from a variety of locations across the UK including textile banks, schools and clubs. Working closely with local charities, local authorities and private organisations they offer a professional and efficient service. Collected textiles are carefully prepared for different outlets, ranging from original product with the cream kept in to premium grade. These are baled into bottany bags and exported to destinations globally.
Because Wardrobe focus on reuse, they are always striving for the best quality reusable products and clothing which is suitable to be reused, rather than disposed of in landfill. The items you can donate are as follows:
- Clothing
- Paired Shoes
- Handbags
- Belts
- Small Soft Toys
- Curtains
- Bed Linen [but please no duvets or pillows]
For each tonne that is donated, Ridgeway Infant School will receive: £100
You can fine the clothing bank is at the top of the school drive. Next time that you’re having a clear out, please remember to drop your bag off at school. Thank you in advance for supporting this fundraising initiative.
